Founded in 1970, the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) is a not-for-profit organization of self-employed professionals in the publishing and communications industries. EFA is a national organization, headquartered in New York City. Members live and work all over the country and abroad. They are editors, writers, indexers, proofreaders, researchers, designers, photographers, desktop publishers, project managers, translators, and others who offer a broad range of skills and specialties.
