A sample of what you’ll discover in Volume 1:

* Why "dust" was originally introduced in “Born to the Purple,” but then taken out.

* What novel writer inspired Garibaldi's cat and mouse game with Ivanova in “Born to the Purple.”

* The identity of Londo’s real alter-ego.

* What mistake was made in "Born to the Purple" that was corrected in "TKO."

* Which character originally had six gill-like slots at the base of their back.

* Revealed — the real reason the Romeo and Juliet lovers appear in "The War Prayer."

* Why DeathWalker is female.

* Who was originally supposed to play Abbutt in “DeathWalker.”

* Why, while writing "Believers," David Gerrold called J. Michael Straczynski in the middle of the night to tell him "You son of a bitch."

* What Andreas Katsulas confided to writer Marc Scott Zicree.

* Why the director of "Grail" spent most of his time fuming during the filming.

Volume 1 also includes four photos from Christy Marx's private collection, taken during the filming of "Grail."

Even better, most of the included scripts are early drafts that include never-before-seen dialogue and action that were later cut from the episodes.

Because there are so many differences, you also get the Script/DVD Variations inventory, which catalogues all the changes, deletions, additions and extras that were in the script but you never actually got to see in a handy, easy-to-reference grid. If you are one of the lucky ones with a Volume 15 from The Babylon 5 Scripts of J. Michael Straczynski, you'll recognize this as being nearly identical to Joe Cuts.

Volume 1 has a total of 20 pages detailing 165 of these B5 Script/DVD variations you probably never knew.

Hidden plot details, secrets of the production finally revealed along with never-before-heard stories of the cast....and what it is really like to work with series creator J. Michael Straczynski.

Collectors take note: All the volumes in the Other Voices series are designed to aesthetically complement your J. Michael Straczynski 14-volume series.

Volume 1 is part of a 3-volume limited edition release that will only be available through September 30, 2008.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ABOUT
"BABYLON 5 SCRIPTS: OTHER VOICES"

How many volumes will there be?
Three volumes total.

Since this is a limited edition series, what is the end date for their availability?
September 30, 2008. No exceptions.

The J. Michael Straczynski series had a $10 off debut discount for the first 7 days a new volume was released. Will these books have the same discount?
Yes. For the first seven days of release, each volume is available for $10 off, or $29.99. After that, each volume is $39.99 and will never be discounted again.

How will I know when a new volume has been released?
"Just released" announcements will be sent to the Babylon 5 Scripts mailing list; this is the same mailing list as for the 14-volume series of J. Michael Straczynski scripts. If you are already on that mailing list, you will automatically receive notification of release dates. If you are NOT on the mailing list enter your email address in this box to be added:

You say that this is a limited edition series. What do you mean by that?
This compilation or a compilation of any of these scripts will never be available again. That said, please note that it is likely that these scripts and their related material will be re-released individually at some point, but they will never again be available packaged together as in this series.

If the J. Michael Straczynski 14-volume series averaged 7 scripts per volume, how come there average of 6 scripts per book in this series?
The short answer is page count. If we go over 450 pages per book, we risk binding issues. Including 7 scripts per book would put us way over, since each these scripts run an average of 6 pages longer than the JMS scripts because they are mostly earlier drafts intended to be edited down. Also of note is that each script has its own commentary by the writer in addition to the Script/DVD Variations inventory (similar to the Joe Cuts from Volume 15), which also added to our page count. The bottom line is that these books are roughly the same amount of content, even though they are 6 scripts each.

Will you be releasing ALL the other writers’ scripts?
Yes. These 3 volumes include all 18 of the other writers’ scripts which means that this series combined with J. Michael Straczynski's 14 volume series collectively contain all 110 Babylon 5 scripts.

Will this "Other Voices" series contain any behind the scenes photos, outlines or other extras the way that the JMS books did?
These books will have as many extras as are available. For example, in Volume 1 we have an outline for a never-produced episode of Babylon 5 as well as 4 photos taken during the filming of "Grail." A future volume will also include Larry DiTillio's 13,000 word bible that documents all the League alien races in Babylon 5, giving full details on their customs, culture, mating rituals and physiology.

Do I need to have purchased all 14 volumes of the J. Michael Straczynski series to have access to these?
No. These are a totally separate entity. You can have bought any or none of the JMS volumes and still be able to get these.

When will these volumes be released?
These volumes will be released once a month, for three months, starting May 15, 2008. Volume 2 will be released on or around June 15, 2008 and Volume 3 on or around July 15, 2008. NOTE: The entire series will be discontinued after September 30, 2008 and these volumes will no longer be available for purchase.

The J. Michael Straczynski series began publishing monthly and, late in the series, had to move to an intermittent timeline due to scheduling conflicts. How definite is the above schedule?
Definite. We were able to get a jump start on production for these volumes.

Is J. Michael Straczynski publishing these Other Voices volumes?
No. Publishing 180, the company that works for J. Michael Straczynski, is publishing these scripts. And, with generous permission from J. Michael Straczynski, these volumes will have a similar look and feel to his 14-volume series, even though he owns the copyright to that design.

Who is handling customer services for these scripts? I'm used to dealing with the Scripts Team and I don't like change.
The Babylon 5 Scripts Team — which is part of Publishing 180 — is handling customer service for the Other Voices series too. You can reach them at help@babylon5scripts.com.

Are these books the same height and depth as the J. Michael Straczynski 14-volume series?
Yes. These are the same size and will line up on your bookshelf perfectly. They even have the same font on the spine for a uniform look.

What if I don't like a volume?
Let us know within 30 days for no-questions-asked guarantee of a complete refund.

Can I order by phone?
Yes. Call 1-877-809-1659.
