What causes breast cancer?
While much breast cancer research is underway, we still do not know what causes breast cancer. It is most likely that many factors interact with each other in ways we do not yet understand to cause breast cancer. A number of specific factors make some people more susceptible than others to developing breast cancer. The most significant of these are age and sex: the older you are the greater your chance of developing breast cancer; and women get breast cancer far more commonly than men.
